January/February events

.

Upcoming Events: Local

Tuesday 12th February,St Aldates Room, Oxford Town Hall, St Aldates, 7:30-9:30

Saher Francis director of Addameer  (http://www.addameer.org/index.php ) will speak to us about human rights for Palestinian prisoners. This is the first event of her U.K. tour.

We shall also have a very short film on child prisoners and begin doing and planning practical work on the issue – beginning with letter writing.

Every Saturday 11.30-1.30pm: OXFORD PSC STALL in Cornmarket by St Michael at Northgate church. The OPSC Saturday street stall on Cornmarket Street is one of the main ways we use for raising the issue of Palestine with the public at large. It is an important activity for offering information leaflets to the public, inviting them to join PSC or leave their email for Oxford PSC updates. Generally we are there 11:30 to 13:30. Always a minimum of two people on shift. Please consider volunteering for a shift: it’s an opportunity to meet other PSC members, those wanting information and occasionally those wishing to challenge our views, even volunteering for one shift a year would help. Please email ali at OPSCstall@gmail.com if you're able to help.

Tuesday 12th March, Oxford Town Hall, St Aldates, 7:30-9:30

How should we boycott Israel? Speakers Ben White and Phyllis Starkey.

Question and answer session: submit your own questions too.

As part of St Mary's Harvest Appeal 2012, we supported the Olive Tree Campaign in Palestine. Our target was to raise £9,800 and this morning it was announced that we have raised over £11,000! Thank you to all those who helped, donated and supported this important appeal.

It doesn't end here though... From 2-11th February, we will be going to Palestine to plant the olive trees we have been raising for. For more information, visit:  http://www.jai-pal.org/content.php?page=1119  If you would like more information or would like to join us, send us a message or comment! With love and peace :)
